No. The existence of a valid seafarer’s licence (HSNP) is a basic condition for coverage. Driving by an unauthorised person or without a licence will invalidate compensation.
Each contract defines geographical limits. Greek waters + Mediterranean is common. For voyages outside the boundaries (e.g. Atlantic) a special geographical extension is required at extra cost.
Standard boat insurance does not cover mechanical damage due to wear and tear or poor maintenance. There are specialised machinery breakdown protections as additional cover.
Yes. Civil liability for bodily injury to passengers and damage to third party vessels is covered.
